By law, the Mississippi Board of Psychology regulates the practice of psychology to “safeguard life, health, property, and the public welfare” of the citizens of Mississippi. The Board strives to prevent the “unauthorized, unqualified, and improper applications of psychology” by examining education and training credentials, administering examinations for minimal competency to practice, requiring continuing professional education, investigating practice complaints, and enacting penalties for violations of practice standards or ethical principles.

Rules and Regulations Filing 2017

The proposed rules and regulation have been uploaded to the MS Administrative Bulletin, system number 22846.
 
The proposed rules must stay on the MS Administrative Bulletin for twenty-five (25) full days for the public comment period. The rules may be filed as final on or after July 31, 2017.

The American Psychological Association’s approved providers are listed on the APA website. Providers usually list their approval status on their brochures. If uncertain about provider status, you can call the office of the Board of Psychology.​
