Applying for a License

Application Requirements
The Mississippi Board of Psychology processes all applications through the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) using the Psychology Licensure Universal System (PLUS) program.

Apply for a License
According to MS Statues and Rules and Regulations that direct the licensure and practice of psychology in the State of MS, there are several pathways for licensure. Please refer to MS Statues and the Rules and Regulations to ensure you meet all requirements for a license as application fees are not refundable.

Choose the option below that applies to your situation.

If you have never been licensed to practice psychology:

  • You will be required to submit a demographic form, pay associated fees and submit a background check.
  • You will complete a full application (link to PLUS Application will come from ASPPB) where your information will be primary source verified. There is an additional fee for this full application.
  • Once all of this information is received by the MS Board of Psychology, candidates will then move through the process of either:
    • Being recommended to take the EPPP; or
    • If you have already taken and passed the EPPP (as stipulated in the Rules and Regulations), you will be recommended for jurisprudence/oral examination.
  • If all of those criteria are met as stipulated, candidates would then be recommended for licensure.
  • To request EPPP accommodations, complete this request form which requires a healthcare provider signature. (Click HERE for form.) You may email the signed form along with supplemental documentation to the Board at admin@msbop.ms.gov for review.
